Bug Description
While the new password-store releases also include features. I think for the sake of including the security fixes / improvements the latest version should be released on older Ubuntu versions.
For example:
1.5 has commit signing to prevent tampering, strong wiping of temporary files, disabled GPG compression.
1.6.x has "sneaky paths" checking, some re-encryption escaping bug fixes.
And they arguably improve the overall security.
Since the upstream repository does not provide any security fixes only branch, I think it's best to go with the current version.
