Bug Description

I use netboot with a custom preseed and partman recipe to install precise. The custom preseed (up to the partitioning step) is attached.

I get an error like the following (I cant remember the exact wording, but grepping "attempt to mount" in the questions/templates.dat file during the install will find the error). This hapends after the partman step:

"The attempt to mount a file system with type ext4 in SCSI1 (0,0,0), partition at /local/home failed"

When I switch to a console view, I can see with fdisk that the partition #3 (which corresponds to /local/home) has been created, but no filesystem has been put on it. I did some tests. I placed an xfs filesystem on partition #3, following that I used fdisk to remove all partitions, and then rebooted and restarted the installer. After the installer got again to the partitioning step, fdisk showed sda3 as an xfs filesystem again. The partitions had been recreated but again no new filesystem had been put on (at least for sda3).

I wanted to select partman in the "In what package did you find this bug?" box; I do not know for sure that the bug is in one of the child packages such as partman-target, but the web form would not let me select partman.
