Bug Description

If I want to use an existing LV (without formatting it), I still need to select it's filesystem type, even though it's already formatted and even gets displayed with filesystem type in the partition list.

Just a minor annoyance, setting severity accordingly.

Also, maybe related, the LV is not set up to be mounted on /media like the other volumes.

Resetting severity, since partioning is a very critical step in the installation process. You don't want to get confused and do something wrong :)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Does this occur in Maverick?

I don't think this has changed. In any case, it would be easy for a bug triager to *check* in a virtual machine - it doesn't need re-confirmation by the bug reporter.
