Bug Description

The PowerPC Alternate image from 2012-03-01 (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/daily/current/) creates duplicate swap and apple boot partitions when Guided-Resize is chosen in the partitioning scheme. I would expect it to use the existing swap and Apple Boot partitions.

I don't think this bug should result in a failed testcase (if indeed it is a bug at all). I agree with you that it is a waste of drive space to have two swap partitions created, but then, you can always go the manual route if you don't want this. What do other architectures do or is this PowerPC specific?

Changed in debian-installer (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Medium
importance: Medium → Low

ojordan, I tried this also on AMD64 and while it does not create duplicate Apple Boot partitions, it consistently makes extra swap partitions. I guess in the grand scheme of things this is not too major since one is rather unlikely to resize more than once.

@Lars I actually quite like separate boostrap partitions for each installation. It means I can use the option key to choose between them. Is good if you mess something up like I've just done!

@ojordan: Ok. As long as the extra boot partitions serve a purpose, I guess it's fine to leave them. I'd been using rEFIt instead to select between installed OSes. How about the swap partitions, though? Aren't they redundant?
