Bug Description

Binary package hint: partman-auto

On the Kubuntu 8.04 RC amd64 alternate image, as well as in later dailies, I saw the following behavior.

After selecting "entire disk" from the guided partitioning menu, and selecting the second disk in my system, I was told that the installer needed to write changes to disk (partman-partitioning/confirm_resize). However, as I had not yet made any changes, this message seemed unnecessary, and slightly unnerving as it gave the impression that changes were pending and I could not know what they were.

FWIW, the log indicates that you selected the auto-resize option, not "entire disk"; that makes more sense for this bug anyway.

I suspect this will also happen if you choose to manually resize a partition without changing anything else.

Is this still an issue for you? What Ubuntu version do you use? Thank you for telling us!
