MSN signing is stuck at "Set contact <email address hidden> flags to 1" [oneiric]

When I try to connect on msn with emesene, I can't sign in and I get the following using the -verbose option:

Thanks for your bug report. A lot of users have noticed this problem and bug 887349 is the master report, so I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of that bug. There is a patch in bug 887349, though, so please give that a try and leave feedback on that bug regarding the outcome.

I applied patpython-papyon_0.5.5-1ubuntu3~dupondje_all.deb patch but I still have the same issue.

Bug still affecting emesene/ Empathy works fine with the patch applied at proposed.
