Pan newsreader no longer works

Bug Description

For some unknown reason after i update my system late last week, Pan newsreader now does not work. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. NO good. I then did the full removal via terminal of all associated files etc (with autoclean/autoremove/update then purge )...that are associated with Pan. Still No Good.

 When the app shortcut is clicked it does nothing at all. Nothing appears on the screen or appears to even try to launch

 Thought this might be a bug so posting it here for the advanced people to take a look see into it.

Do you have an error message when you run pan from a terminal ?
