Bug Description
Binary package hint: libpam-modules
pam_motd(8) in libpam-modules 1.1.1-2ubuntu1 (Lucid beta1) is now responsible for generating the system MOTD in addition to displaying it (see bug #399071).
This rather important behavior, and its use of files under /etc/update-motd.d/ and elsewhere, is not currently documented in the pam_motd(8) man page.
(The motd(5) man page could probably be tweaked, as well.)
