Bug Description
As discussed in bug #275169, the recommended call to pam-auth-update --remove in package prerm currently drops information about the admin's local preferences for the PAM stack prior to a module package being purged. This should probably be fixed per Debian and Ubuntu policy about retaining package configuration.
