Cancel does not always work in SC enabled gdm

Bug Description

When no smartcard is inserted, gdm will hang upon 'cancel'. Only after inserting a smartcard the cancel operation succeeds and a new 'login' window will appear.

As far as I have seen: pam_pkcs11 uses a blocking call which doesn't have a timeout value. Some time
ago I've traced this down to one call, but I was to busy to continue searching (and opening a bug...).
