As detailed in an upstream announcement [0], the OVN 23.09.0 release is delayed. The estimated date for release is Friday September 15th.
This new upstream version includes fixes and new features that are important for our community, and we would like to include it in the Ubuntu Mantic release.
Our plan towards the Ubuntu release is the following:
- Upload a snapshot based on the upcoming 23.09 branch if FFe is ACK'd.
- As soon as the upstream release is cut we will upload a final package based on the released source artifacts.

As detailed in an upstream announcement [0], the OVN 23.09.0 release is delayed. The estimated date for release is Friday September 15th.
The stable branch was created September 1st [2][3] and the expected release date was reiterated. Except for one feature still in review [4], from which upstream is considering merging the 8 first patches, the branch is mostly expected to receive bug fixes for any issues found during testing before its release.
This new upstream version includes fixes performance improvements and new features that are important for our community, and we would like to include it in the Ubuntu Mantic release.
Our plan towards the Ubuntu release is the following:
- Perform extended testing with the branched version on downstream consumers such as OpenStack.
- Await final release and upload it to Debian as soon as it is available on September 15th and subsequently sync to Ubuntu if FFe is ACK'd.

This new upstream version includes fixes performance improvements and new features that are important for our community, and we would like to include it in the Ubuntu Mantic release.
We are in the process of updating Debian unstable with the new version and the MR has been approved [3].
The package can also be viewed in a PPA for details on how it would look on Ubuntu [4].
As soon as the package has been uploaded to Debian unstable we would like to sync it to Mantic.
