Bug Description

Ubuntu Natty beta 2

1. Launch Startup Applications Preferences.

What you see: A "¬"-shaped orange stripe, consisting of the selected item plus what is apparently a scrollbar. It looks like the program has malfunctioned while trying to draw the selected item.

What you should see: The selected item in a list, and the scrollbar for the list, should look like separate objects.

Can we create an outer separation (1px outline to the overlay scrollbar) that inherits the background colour. To give an effect like the attached JPG?

Another example of this issue:
In Nautilus, choose List View and select the last file.
Or select all files.
Now the scrollbar cannot be seen anymore.

I like the outline solution better than the lighter/darker ones. It seems to be more independent on the actual original color, and in case of color blinded people.
I would even make it 2px thick.

@cimi, maybe the list item selection can be lighter. At the moment is very bold, and it's cool, but the (scroll) bar should be bolder. Otherwise, if we have transparency, we could have this separator with transparency, bright if the color of the bar is dark, and dark if the color of the bar is bright.
