grub-installer: statusexplanation |
Bugzilla status=NEEDINFO, product=Ubuntu, component=grub-installer |
This bug occurs because os-prober does not always manage to report the contents of mounted filesystems. This is a known bug, and is not fixed in Dapper as far as I know. |

description |
In the kubuntu installation on the end of stage 1 it will be installed the grub
boot-manager.
The grub-installation not recognized
1. the OS/2 Boot Manager,
2. the Windows combined Win98/Winxp installation,
3. the Linux Ubuntu-Installation (Gnome-Version).
I wish to install the grub-boot-manager into the kubuntu-root-partition,
but the install process not asked the user wherein to install the boot-manager.
The installer installed the grub-manager into the master boot record
and the system can boot only kubuntu, not windows, not ubuntu (gnome-version).
The kubuntu preview version has this error not contained. |
If a filesystem is mounted in the partitioner, os-prober will not report its contents, so any operating system installed on the mounted filesystem will not be included in the boot loader configuration. |
