Bug Description

Description:

As of v2.8 Open vSwitch may program flows into the kernel and hardware using TC-Flower. This is a mechanism to allow acceleration of OvS using hardware such as Netronome SmartNICs.

The scope of this bug is to add set-action support to TC-based offload of Open vSwitch.

Status:

Accepted upstream for inclusion in v2.9.

Simon; if these patches will be included in ovs 2.9.x we're all good for Ubuntu Bionic; 2.9.0 should be the 18.04 release version of ovs (based on currently plans for both Ubuntu and OVS).

I'd rather not pull them into Bionic as distro patches ontop of 2.8, but we could pull in a 2.9.x snapshot as soon as OVS create a branch.

Hi James,

I confirm that the patches have been accepted for inclusion in v2.9.x and if Bionic ships with v2.9.0 then I believe we will be in good shape.
