I can confirm this bug. After running:

Errors were encountered while processing:
 openvas-server

It seems the debconf file /var/cache/debconf/config.dat lists openvas-server/certificate as the key, while the script /var/lib/dpkg/info/openvas-server.config expects it to be openvasd/certificate. Changing the script file and rebuilding the .deb file fixed the problem for me.
