Bug Description
I made a little demo video which is 15M .mkv containing h264/FLAC encoded.
Import into openshot and then drag to the timeline. Computer freezes up as OpenShot eats all available memory and swap and eventually gets killed by the kernel OOM killer.

Confirmed. Resident memory usage hit 11GB within 2 seconds here. It happens as soon as you start dragging the file, and not when you drop it on the timeline.
