Today on Feisty, Update Notifier prompted me to update, and so I did. Among the updates was an update from OOo 2.1.4 to 2.2.0, and this broke things. I traced the problem to a configuration setting in ~/.openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Common.xcu. This is the relevant section before the update:

I had to edit the “SymbolSet” property—when I changed it to “1”, it no longer crashed when I started it. It seems that I am stuck with large toolbar buttons…
The settings that this section of Common.xcu belong to are the ones found in ”Tools→Options...→OpenOffice.org→View→User Interface→Icon size and style”. |
