Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Like many other people, I've been experiencing periodic (multi-times per day) crashes in openoffice (all apps). Typically it occurs when I switch between applications (usually Alt-Tab). I thought I had fixed it a couple of days ago removing an old wifi card, but after 2 days the issue restarted. I think I can recreate the problem by forcing the system to run out of physical memory (I have 2GB) by running imagemagick "convert 100pagetest.tif convertedtoreallybig.pdf". I think imagemagick is unrelated, just that its an easy way to consume large amounts of memory very fast and force the system to page.

So, this is possibly a duplicate of bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/579966 though I don't want to hijack that bug and its information.
