Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I can't even 'completely uninstall (inc config files)' OpenOffice, let alone manually understand and resolve the problem. When updating OOo, I get a notice stating that the installer can't delete/add to 'var/cache/apt/archives/partial/*'. Three OOo subpackages are mentioned: the pdfimport, emailmerge, and binfilter functions. The Quickstart feature has never been used, to the best of my memory. This report is in addition to the 2 prior, filed within about 15 minutes ago. Thanks.
