Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I was having a problem with OpenOffice pretty much since I have Installed UBUNTU 9.10. The bug was with the quickstart, as it kept crashing and once crashed OO writer too.
Now during security update while running the update manager it came up with a message that I need to close OO as otherwise it can not update. However OO was not open, nor the quickstarter. I have also checked in the system info/processes if anything is running from OO that I am not aware of but there was nothing. I clicked forward in the update process and then it alerted me later on that the emailmerge could not be updated. And voila: this is where we stand.
