Binary package hint: openoffice.org
When you wish to copy the formatting of some text onto another piece of text using the "format paintbrush", it nearly always changes the whole paragraph! I want it to change the formatting of what I apply it to, not ruin the whole paragraph lol.
Example: I have some text that is BOLD, SIZE 14 and DARK BLUE. I wish to apply this formatting to a few words. When I do this, the whole paragraph changes into the default font (Times New Roman, Size 12).
Note to OpenOffice.org: this happens in the Windows version of OpenOffice too.

3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Writer via the Terminal:
cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/525717/+attachment/2369876/+files/example.odt && lowriter -nologo example.odt
when one uses the mouse and selects the blue text → clicks Format Paintbrush → selects “jumps over” in the green text, only those two words have their format changed.
4) What happens instead is “jumps over” changed to the desired formatting but the font, font color, and size of the words to the left and right, as well as the paragraph justification changed to Default Formatting.
WORKAROUND: Use the mouse and select the blue text → click Format Paintbrush → press and hold the Ctrl key -> select “jumps over” in the green text then let go.
