Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

First be sure your ooo options enable :
- hardware acceleration
- antialiasing
- antialias from 1 pixel

open the attached drawing

go to a slide, select several objects and begin to drag them. In the main window it behaves normally but as soon as you drop the objects, the redrawing in the miniature window on the left takes several seconds during which nothing can be done in the draw user interface. During this redraw, CPU goes to 100%.

Now unselect use antialiasing in the general display options. Then the drag and drop operations are very quick.

I wonder if it is a ooo draw issue or a general antialiasing issue under KDE, Xorg, Kubuntu. I see no other applications beeing slow other than ooo draw.

I have no problems with this drawing under win XP, just on linux with my desktop MP965-DR

Is there another means to check the performance of antialiasing under Linux ?

I'm also affected by this bug.
The drawing can be very simple, just a few arrowed lines and rectangles, when I zoom-in (using + key) everything slows down progressively until the whole system becomes unusable when I aproach max zoom-in. The problem dissapears when I deactivate "Use Anti-Aliasing".

My system:
openoffice.org-core 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1
Linux 2.6.31-17-generic i686
LANG=es_MX.UTF-8
Ubuntu 9.10

This bug was reported against an earlier version of Ubuntu, can you test if it still occurs on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)?

Please note we also provide technical support for older versions of Ubuntu, but not in the bug tracker. Instead, to raise the issue through normal support channels, please see:

    http://www.ubuntu.com/support

If you are the original reporter and can still reproduce the issue on Lucid, please run the following command to refresh the report:

  apport-collect 499020

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your bug report.

If you are not the original reporter, please file a new bug report, so we can work with you as the original reporter instead (you can reference bug 499020 in your report if you think it may be related):

  ubuntu-bug openoffice.org

If by chance you can no longer reproduce the issue on Lucid or if you feel it is no longer relevant, please mark the bug report 'Fix Released' or 'Invalid' as appropriate, at the following URL:
