Bug Description
My Ubuntu Dapper system is up to date (3.1.) and I also installed the recent OpenOffice.org update.
I noticed a problem using the formula editor "Math":
For example if you start "Writer", go to Insert -> Object -> Formula and type in:
a-b
The minus sign is shown as a box, just like as if this character was missing. If I write it in quotation marks, a minus sign is shown. This only applies to the minus sign in Math, every other character is shown correctly. Also if I write a minus sign in Writer and the auto format feature is used to enlarge this sign, no problem occurs.
A document with formulas and lots of minuses I have written last week was working perfectly until now. Nothing has changed so far.
Even if this problem only occurs in Math, I am not sure if this is Math-related since I only updated to the new OOo version from yesterday because I thought that this problem would vanish. But it hasn't and it also occured in the version before. But as I said, last week everything was ok.
I noticed an update of locales and some symbolic ttf font these days, maybe it has something to do with this.
I've got the minus sign here although it pushes right against the "b". The only font changes I have on my system is I installed the msttcorefonts package. See if that does anything for your problem.
