Bug Description

I work on large data sets in Calc and scrolling down when I have everything selected is really slow. These databases consists of thousands of rows so maybe this is to be expected but the scrolling function is not slow unless I have things highlighted. Thanks!

Do you still have this problem with the new version of OOo in the ppa at https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive ?

I don't have any documents that are nearly that large to test with, if you happen to have one with non-sensitive data that you can attach to the launchpad bug report it would be helpful.

Thanks,

Chris Cheney

I attached a file that only has around 300 rows and 4 columns. Maybe it's just me but when nothing is highlighted the scrolling is very smooth and goes one by one while when I do a select all on sheets the scrolling is a bit laggy and jumps (not smooth at all). Thanks!

Jmadero, unreproducible in LibreOffice Calc via the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/313993/+attachment/442040/+files/Vocab.ods && localc -nologo Vocab.ods

Ctrl+A and scrolled around, no difference from not doing so. Does this work for you? If using Lucid or Maverick feel free to perform at the Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-calc

lsb_release -rd

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.

Since this bug hasn't been touched in a while and the Incomplete autoclose didn't work, I'm going to close it.

If you can still reproduce on a new version of Ubuntu, please reopen it.
