I'm not sure what you are saying is the bug. It sounds like you are saying you added some invalid words to your custom dictionary and now it is claiming the words are not misspelled since they are spelled the way you added them to the custom dictionary? If so that is not a bug in the program since you added it to the custom dictionary.

Hi Chris,

Simply put, I cannot get the spellcheck to work, using any of the tool
or gui menus. The custom dictionary issues are likely the result of
something that I did, however I cannot delete them. IE - I cannot delete
any of these dictionaries.

Do you have the document set to English UK and have the English UK dictionary installed as well?

Also if you added a word to the ignore list by accident you can remove it by going to:

Tools->Options->Language Settings->Writing Aids->User-defined dictionaries->IgnoreAllList

Hi Chris,

I had the Canadian Dictionary installed in the writing aids section -
spell check section. I think the problem is now solved. Thanks for your
help!!

Ok, well basically all you have to do to get spellchecking working is make sure you know what the language setting is for the document you are working on and then make sure you have a spell-checker for that exact language setting installed. Eg if your document is English (Canada) then you would need a English (Canada) spell-checker to check it. For some language/country combinations there are unfortunately no available spell-checkers, in those cases you might want to select a related language/country combination for those documents to be spell-checked.
