Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I have OOo installed on Ubuntu 2.4.1 Intrepid Ibex (package openoffice.org-core 1:2.4.1-11ubuntu2).

When I try to create a new document from "Templates and Documents", OOo crashes with the following message (dialog box) :

Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed. All files you were working on will be saved now.[......]

But, if I try to create a new document from the icon "New" in Word Processor for instance, it works. The problem seems to be in oofromtemplate.

Test procedure :

1) Open a terminal window
2) run oofromtemplate
3) In "New Document", click on "Text Document", "Spreadsheet", "Presentation or whatever"

Thank you.

Arnaud,

Do you have Assitive Technologies enabled on your system? If so does disabling it (if possible for you) cause the problem to go away? I think I have a duplicate of this bug already but need to find out if it is the same cause. If so I have forwarded it to the developers already to try to have the problem resolved asap.

Thanks,

Chris Cheney

Hi Chris,

You are perfectly right : I do not know why but Assistive Technologies was enabled (I have maybe tried to make my computer speak and forgot to disable the option after !).

Now I have disabled Assistive Technologies, everything works fine.

If my report is a duplicate of yours, you are welcome to put it back as a duplicate.

Thank you for your help.
