I was able to install OOo 3.0 recently and have forgotten about this error.
I did test it out and it does do the same error.
I noticed under the file menu that Properties has the "i" underlined to use
as the hot key choice which comes up when hitting ALT "i".
The choice for the insert column is also "i" but capital.

I did try to do an alt then shift "i" but still got the properties screen.

looks if you use a letter for a hot key in a column which should be reserved
for the main menu it does cause a conflict if a file menu is open.

I did try to do ALT then arrow over to the Insert column then hit "b" to for
manual break and that worked. So the issue maybe that when ALT is initiated
it is opening the file menu and it may need the user to select the "f" to
open it instead of it automatically opening.

If you need me to check something or get do something I will be glad to try.

Thanks
Justin Clarke

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
