Printer Output Reduced to One Third Size

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Since update, all printer output is shrunk to approx. one third actual
size. Tried changing global and Application printer settings with no
effect.
System: Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy)
Kernel Linux 2.6.24-19-generic
Gnome 2.22.3
Memory: 1.9 GiB
AMD Athlon(tm) 64x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+

I just installed Koffice with the same printer output problem, so it appears not to be OpenOffice with the problem. Gedit prints O.K. Any clues please?

I have tested to print from OpenOffice on two printers (HP LaserJet 3390 and HP Color LaserJet 3600) and I cannot reproduce the bug. For me it looks like that it is a problem of a particular printer driver.

Can you tell which printer you have?

Can you also do the following:

Start system-config-printer via System -> Administration -> Printing. In the "Help" menu of system-config-printer choose "Troubleshoot". Go through the steps of the wizard, when it asks for printing something, print a document from OpenOffice. When the printing finishes, say that it did not work and then save the troubleshoot.txt file and attach it to this bug.

Do the same steps also for KOffice.

Printer: Epson Stylus C61

[1] Boot up & Print: Report 1.
[2] Delete & Reinstall Printer: Report 2
[3] No reconfiguring after [2], Printed page O.K. with no ejection of page & power LED on Printer flashing. Unable to print. Printer status says "Document Held", clicking on "Release" does nothing. No Report.
[4] Delete & Reinstall Printer: Report 4. Printed two pages from OO: 1st. O.K. 2nd. stopped on partial printing of last line, did not eject page. Power LED flashing on printer. Print size correct.
[5] Switched printer power off & on, tried to print OO spreadsheet: No go - Printer status says "Document Held", clicking on "Release" does nothing.
[6] Delete & Reinstall Printer: Report 6. Printed OO spreadsheet correctly but no sheet ejection. Problem with reduced print size seems to have disappeared.
