Cannot edit documents created before openoffice writer 2.4

It appears a message saying "la marca o seleccion se encuentra en una posicion protegida. Por ello no se puede aceptar una modificacion", in english should be something like "the selection is protected, so it can not accept a modification". This shouldnt happen, since I havent made changes to that document. I just retreived it to make new modifications and i couldnt. This is happening with all my documents, except with the recently created.

Help!

I can confirm this on similar computer since upgrading to 2.4
The document we are triyng to open is a Microsoft Word Document.
1:2.4.0-3ubuntu6

I think this is very urgent. We cannot modify some of our documents.

I think this bug may be corrected in openoffice.org 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2. Please test the new version that is available in hardy-updates and let me know if it corrects the problem for you.

I have a similar problem in OOo 3, with a document created with Microsoft Word with 4 sections (all supposedly editable)
3 sections was marked as Protected, then the workaround is change them with menu "Formato/Secciones..." (Format/Sections...)

Note that this documents are directly editable in MSWord and AbiWord.
