[Upstream] [hardy] Ooo Write font selection bug in right-to-left editing mode

To reproduce the bug:
1. Start Ooo Write
2. Switch to arabic keyboard (gnome switcher)
3. Select right-to-left editing mode
4. Select any font
5. begin typing

The bug: note the font selection. It is changed
to "Tahoma;Lucidas...", or some other.

Both Warty and Hoary suffer this bug.
The bug always appear when the cursor is put at
the start of the document. It sometimes appear
when the cursor is elsewhere.

- which locale do you have installed? Open a terminal and type "locale"
- please could you recheck with current OOo1 and OOo2 versions from breezy?

surprised if this turns out to be relevant.

As for breezy test, I haven't got a breezy installation
yet, and have no spare machine for a ride on breezy.

I have tried Ooo2 from breezy.
The bug has become more mild as the font name
is no longer the nonsensical semicolon-separated
list, but rather an actual font name.

I also found another sure way to produce the bug:
 1. In Ooo Write, with keyboard set to USA, type anything, say "hello".
 2. Switch to arabic keyboard (gnome switcher)
 3. Place the cursor within "hello".
 4. Change font.
 5. Type something
Bug: The font selection will change to something else.
So, the bug doesn't really depend on right-to-left paragraph mode.

rechecked with the 2.0.4 rc1 packages announced on ubuntu-devel-announce. unable to reproduce the behaviour. I cannot see what behaviour you really expect.

I can confirm this with a Turkish keyboard as well. very simple to see:

1. set keyboard to turkish qwerty (others might also work)
2. type hello (something)
3. switch to arabic keyboard
4. change font
5. place cursor inside the word "hello"
6. type something
7. watch as the font changes to dejavu sans.

Expected behavior:
at step 7, no change of fonts. the font you selected should stay as it is.

annoying indeed.

PS this is a Dapper up to date.

PSS. I'm pretty sure anyone running Edgy can test this real easily.

you might want to change the summary of this bug to something more effective, like "writer changes font if keyboard switched and typed characters inside a word" [I know, bad english]

Same Problem i faced while Doing with a malayalam font also.

I dint find any reply for this.

I am not sure if it is caused by the language style or not, but I definitely had
experience where fonts for random lines fall back to default upon reopening of
file (after I did a select all and format font and save). My system is xpsp3
OOO310m19 build 9420.
