[gutsy] OpenOffice Writer crashes upon selecting File/Print... or File/Printer Settings...

Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

To reproduce the crash, I had to attempt selecting either Print... or Printer Settings... from the dropdown menu under File. I could select the Print *button* and get it to print directly. I was able to adjust default settings from outside the OpenOffice Writer program itself by going to System/Administration/Printing. To summarize, OOo Writer Print BUTTON worked fine for one printed copy. Trying to select Print... or Printer Settings... from the File menu caused repeated hangs / crashes.

I can confirm this bug on two different machines. One desktop and one laptop. Both have openoffice.org-l10n-de installed, so to reproduce the crash, I have to start oowriter then select "Datei", "Drucken...".
It crashes every time and asks me, if I want to reconstruct the damaged document.

My wife had this problem - crash on selecting print from file menu. I then logged in and opened and printed the file, still using the print from the file menu. Her account is a desktop user account, I have a privileged account. We are in different groups, though I do not know why. Must unprivileged users be in a different account? Using OpenOffice.org Word Processor, core 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5 Monday Oct15 09:22:18 GMT 2007 on Ubuntu 7.10.

Should read "Must unprivileged users be in a different GROUP?"

I think this is a duplicate of Bug #131526. After changing the GTK theme to Human, selecting File and Print... works.

Can you confirm?

I'll try, if you remind me how to change the GTK theme to human.

So I found "Human" under System/Preferences/Appearance. We also tried "Misty". Both work - we can print from either one. Thanks.
