Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The actual error is in the attached logs:

mkdir: cannot create directory ‘/etc/.java/.systemPrefs’: File exists

It indicates that you have a file /etc/.java/.systemPrefs were our scripts expected a directory. Please test what kind of file you have by running:

file /etc/.java/.systemPrefs

and please post it (or its contents) here as well. The eventual solution will be to delete that file and retry the install, but I want to have a better look at what it contains to prevent any data loss on your side.
