I get the same error when launching Eclipse in Kubuntu 11.10 64 bit.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Oracle has accepted the bug:

It is not yet available publicly, but it should become public in the next few days (that is how Oracle does things).
