Bug Description

I was launching Minecraft using OpenJDK 6 and I had OpenJDK 7 installed manually (via terminal) and it crashed. Also, OpenJDK 7 won't run the game and won't show up in the terminal when I write "java -version". It writes "Java 1.6.0.21" instead.

I am experiencing the same issue. Even after rebooting and only installing the default openjdk-6-jre coming with Ubuntu 11.10.
After launching the game, when I click on enter world, the game just crashes and I get an error log in my home directory.
I sometimes also get crash reports from java itself.
