java applets from www.win2day.at broken

It was pointed out to me and I verified that most applets served by
  http://www.win2day.at
are broken. This seems to be a popular site in Austria and it would be great to get it working. But be warned! the applets store files in you working directory and my eat your dog... so I'd do any testing on a throwaway VM, as I'm not sure gaming sites can be trusted even if this seems to be the site under state supervision...

I tested this with the following game:

-> confirmed the warning the applet being signed by the Oesterreichische Lotterien GmbH

Unless I then delete the win2day folder, the exception isn't reported when I retry, but the Error is reported and the game never displayed.
