2013-06-06 19:51:22 quequotion summary Typographical errors in openbox-themes package cause obconf segfault Typographical errors in openbox-themes package
2013-06-06 19:56:07 quequotion description Two themes in the openbox-themes (1.0.2) package contain typographical errors that cause obconf to segfault immediately: The output from obconf (2.0.3+git20110808-1) is: (obconf:6173): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated ObRender-Message: Unable to parse color '#0000000' Segmentation fault (core dumped) I don't think this error message is worded properly. "ObRender-Message" doesn't tell the user that this is a critical error which will cause failure, nor does it tell the user where the error is actually coming from. In this particular case, the errors are in: /usr/share/themes/AbsE/openbox-3/themerc, line70: window.active.button.toggled.bg.color: #0000000 /usr/share/themese/Wblue/openbox-3/themerc, line 69: window.active.button.toggled.bg.color: #0000000 This bug report applies to both openbox-themes, which needs to have typographical errors corrected, and obconf, which needs a better error message. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: openbox-themes 1.0.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-15.22-custom 3.5.4 Uname: Linux 3.5.7-qq-2 x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu17.2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Jun 7 02:28:51 2013 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Beta amd64 (20120407) MarkForUpload: True PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: openbox-themes UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) Two themes in the openbox-themes (1.0.2) package contain typographical errors: The output from obconf (2.0.3+git20110808-1) is: (obconf:6173): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated ObRender-Message: Unable to parse color '#0000000' Segmentation fault (core dumped) I don't think this error message is worded properly. Initially I thought these errors were responsible for obconf segfaulting on start, but they are not. Correcting them only removed the ObRender-Message. I am unable to track down what causes "GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated", which could also be responsible for the segfault, unless it's completely unrelated.
