Johan, sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant that we still had not tested the server packages to make sure they work. I ran some tests a while ago with the backported openafs-fileserver and openafs-dbserver packages - they work great on Edgy with the backported modules. Here's some information on the server I used:

bsdlogical@knuth:~$ dpkg -l | grep afs | grep ^i
ii libpam-openafs-session 1.0-7 PAM Module to get AFS tokens and set up PAG
ii openafs-client 1.4.4-1~ach0edgy1 AFS distributed filesystem client support
ii openafs-dbserver 1.4.4-1~ach0edgy1 AFS distributed filesystem database server
ii openafs-doc 1.4.4-1~ach0edgy1 AFS distributed filesystem documentation
ii openafs-fileserver 1.4.4-1~ach0edgy1 AFS distributed filesystem file server
ii openafs-krb5 1.4.4-1~ach0edgy1 AFS distributed filesystem Kerberos 5 integr
ii openafs-modules-2.6.17-11-generic 1.4.4-1~ach0edgy1+2.6.17.1-11.35 AFS distributed filesystem kernel module
bsdlogical@knuth:~$ uname -a
Linux knuth.dupontmanual.org 2.6.17-11-generic #2 SMP Tue Mar 13 23:32:38 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

By reiterating our requests individually, I meant that each one of us should contact the maintainer on our own - that way, we will get noticed.

Like Björn mentioned, we probably should send emails to MOTU to ensure that he/she is aware of our findings.
