Open-vm-tools faults when shutdown on latest Vmware

Bug Description

On VMware ESXI release 4192238 (latest), if you right-click on the virtual machine's name and select Power--> Shutdown Guest, there is a crash and VMware reports an error.

The package needs an update.

Not enough information was provided to diagnose.
Closing as expired; presumably this was with Ubuntu 16.04 or older.
