[FFe] Doesn't actually work python-bson

Bug #944378 reported by Francis J. Lacoste on 2012-03-01

Bug Description

The current version packaged doesn't actually work with the python-bson module. That last module is built from pymongo and has a different API than the bson module on PyPI. (Yes, there are two bson modules with different API available on PyPI.)

Upstream version 0.0.16 actually supports both API so an upgrade to 0.0.16 or 0.0.17 is probably a good idea.

We are requesting FFe for 0.0.17 version that allows this python module to correctly work with python-bson in the archives, otherwise, it won't work with this python-bson.

This package builds, installs and works successfully.

Build log: find attached.

Install log:
sudo dpkg -i python-oops-datedir-repo_0.0.17-0ubuntu1_all.deb

Unpacking replacement python-oops-datedir-repo ...
Setting up python-oops-datedir-repo (0.0.17-0ubuntu1) ..

So you ask for an FFe and then 27 minutes later you upload?

Does this need an FFe or not?

Andres Rodriguez (andreserl) wrote :

Hi Scott,

I'm sorry for uploading before obtaining FFe. I thought it was gonna get stuck in the queue, but it seems it didn't, unless someone approved my upload.

The queue is unfrozen after beta 1, so you can't rely on that.

In this case it seems like a good thing to update, so no harm done.

Please be more careful next time.
