This is particularly interesting for distributions that want Onboard to appear with a particular theme. However, cli parameters and user settings override the system wide defaults. 3) I removed the patch to hide the desktop icons. In fact, the Ubuntu developers used to hide the desktop icons of Onboard before Unity appeared, because they did not want the Universal Access menu to be visible in the menus. As Unity changed the presentation of the desktop icons, this patch does probably not make sense anymore. 4) Onboard needs distutils-extra >= 2.10. However, some later versions of distutils-extra (at least version 2.26 and 2.27) have a bug that breaks the building of Onboard. That bug has been fixed in version 2.28 of distutils-extra that is currently available in oneiric. I was not sure whether I had to raise the version requirement of distutils-extra to 2.28 in debian/control. However, as onboard is buildable with distutils-extra version before the bug landed into it, I decided to leave the requirement of distutils-extra for Onboard at 2.10. I hope to have made the right choice. 5) As Ubuntu Natty is currently shipping the buggy version of distutils-extra, Onboard cannot be built for Natty unless version 2.28 of distutils-extra is backported to Natty. Would it make sense to file a SRU update bug for Natty under these circumstances?
