on start, briefly appears, then crashes

if run from console, crashes with
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

dmesg shows:

No problems running onboard-settings
Checked onboard with default settings, and everything disabled

I expected it to run without crashing.

Instead, it crashed.

Ubuntu-desktop 24.04 on gnome @ 6/5/2024

I tested this by installing onboard and it launches correctly at my side

but i noticed a lot of syntax warnings during the install of onboard

Had same issue, I followed jdkatz23's second blog post (thanks!), where I found this solution that worked for me (Kubuntu 24.02 as well). I entered onboard-settings (from Konsole) and went to Keyboard -> Advanced -> Input options and set Input Event Source to GTK

I'm having the same crash on Xubuntu 24.04. Changing the Input Event Source to GTK workaround has solved the issue to me too.
