Bug Description

Binary package hint: blender-ogrexml

After installing the blender-ogrexml package, it isn't available/recognized in blender. That is, under File->Export the OGRE export plugin doesn't appear. Running scripts->update scripts doesn't help either.

Copying the files into the ~/blender/scripts directory manually, and then running scripts->update scripts, does make Blender recognize the OGRE exporter correctly.

I also saw this issue, looks like /usr/lib/blender/scripts is no longer in the search path for blender.

symlinking the scripts to ~/.blender/scripts worked for me, not sure if blender package needs updated to include the path, or if the install path needs altered to somewhere blender does look at.

using hardy with the following package versions

blender
Version: 2.45-4ubuntu1

Package: blender-ogrexml
Version: 1.4.5-3build1

The correct path seems to be /usr/share/blender/scripts/blender

However when inserting both the script file (ogremeshesexporter.py) and the directory (ogrepkg) in that directory there is still a problem when launching the plugin, it asks for the location of the package.

I've found the reason why the script was asking for the package location,

Blender 2.45 has a new directory in /usr/share/blender/scripts called bpymodules which is reserved for extra packages.

I hereby upload a .deb package which contains a fixed version, installing this allowed me to open the export tools without any problems.

I have named it blender-ogrexml_1.4.5-4.deb following what I though would be the right procedure, unless we should just increase build number.

This is still an issue in jaunty. Symlinking the necessary files from /usr/lib/blender/scripts to /usr/share/blender/scripts did the trick.

correct directory is /usr/share/blender/scripts/$package since blender 2.45(?) Could just make this change, or is this a problem with previous versions of blender?
