Bug Description
Since flashing to devel-proposed (r115) the phone will no longer make a 3g data connection. When I switch off wifi, the top menu will always display a 2g connection only.
current OS: Ubuntu 15.04 (r117) (but discovered on r115, which was a frech install)

So the radio tech preference is being honored as NetworkRegistration shows that you have a 'gsm' connection for voice, however the bearer technology for your data connection is indeed 'edge'.
What operator are you using?
Does RTM establish a 3g data connection?
Have you touched the modem firmware at all and/or flashed Android on the device recently?

I should add that this is not

because in my case, I have the 2G/3G button available to select in the cellular UI. It just doesnt do anything.
