      Version 0.47 changed the D-Bus namespace to use org.bluez.obex
      instead of org.openobex.

Thank you for bug report, that's a duplicate of bug #1030463 which already has some info about that upgrade

The changelog includes that
" Version 0.47 changed the D-Bus namespace to use org.bluez.obex instead of org.openobex."

Did you or anyone do an archive grep for org.openobex. to see what client are using the old namespace? We are going to need to migrate those if we update

"since an upgrade to version 0.48-1 in testing sending files to my smartphone
via gnome3-bluetooth-applet does not work any more.

Instead of the transfer dialog I get an error message
"GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name
org.openobex.client was not provided by any .service files". A downgrade to
0.46-1+b1 from stable fixes the problem, everything works fine again."

Refreshed merge patch. Technically, it's ready to be sponsored. However, regarding to Sebastien's comment, it might be a regression on another programs. If someone got time to take care on the whole programs from comment #22, feel free to get my debdiff and reuse it including needed changes to avoid the regression.
