I've got the same problem, whenenver I start a graphical application from the shell, I get a similar error, the only difference is "Major opcode: 145" (instead of 147). How to solve it?

I use Kubuntu 7.04 on a TravelMate 290

Thank you for your bug report.
I believe that this happens due to the wacom lines in /etc/X11/xorg.conf when using the nvidia binary driver (and for whatever reason only shows up under KDE).

robert-hopt:
Could you back up your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and remove the Section "InputDevice" areas that contain Drive "wacom" and see if there is any difference?

Setting to needsinfo pending reply from robert.
