nvidia-settings does not remember settings, full hd monitor runs in interlaced mode every logout/reboot

Nvidia (display) settings are not stored/remembered after logoff or reboot.
Well, its using max resolution (LCD monitor) but everytime goes interlaced, and screen starts to flicker.
Every time i log in i need to setup display (resolution and refresh rate) to get rid of screen flickering.
Running nvidia-settings with sudo , gksu did not help, as also switching display driver did not solve this problem.

Same this here, just noticed it. My screen reverts to 40Hz refresh rate after logout. I managed to work around it by checking "force full panel GPU scaling" in nvidia settings and then manually passing the path to the config file in the startup app. I now have "sh -c '/usr/bin/nvidia-settings --config=/home/nerdykid/.nvidia-settings-rc --load-config-only'" as a startup app instead of the default "sh -c '/usr/bin/nvidia-settings --load-config-only'.

Same problem with the refresh rate here.
There are many open bugs which IMHO are duplicates: the main problem is that nvidia-settings won't properly save & reuse the settings.

Confirmed. This happens 50% of the time with my TV connected via VGA. If I connect it via HDMI it happens 100% of the time. The problem appears to be that nvidia is not saving correctly the settings. Other errors are having the resolution outside the borders of the TV, or the

This is still affecting even after installing Ubuntu 32 or 64 from scratch. Even if I apply the swat-x PPA for nvidia it still affects the PC. It affects Nvidia 9500, 220, 9800, 440 and the new 560 TI I bought. I have to go to the nvidia-settings panel and change the refresh rate from Auto to 60hz for it to "know" that it is on 1680x1050.

It is working with 4:3 Monitors but not 16:10 or 16:9. This were the tests I did with an Nvidia 9500, 220, 440 and 560 TI:

Soniview 32' - Problem mentioned in this ticket about not saving resolution/refresh rate/etc.. This is a TV connected via HDMI
Gateway FPD1760 - Works with no errors. This is the one that is 1280x1024 4:3. Monitor connected via VGA
Samsung Syncmaster 794 - Works with no errors. This is another monitor with 1280x1024 4:3. Monitor connected via VGA
Samsung Syncmaster 2243 - Problem as mentioned in this ticket. LCD connected via VGA
Samsung Syncmaster P2770ND - Same problem as in ticket. Connected via HDMI
AOC 912V-WA1 - Problem as in ticket. Connected via DVI.

As far as I can see the problem appears when using any cable that is not VGA or using a monitor not 4:3, like a TV.

Tested a 9:10 TV, a AOC Envision Series 26' (I think is 26 or 27). Works perfectly. This is the first non 4:3 that works at least for me. What I think is this could be more of a Nvidia problem than a Unity one. I would have to test newer drivers and also test this with Windows XP and Windows 7 just to discard the Nvidia or Unity problem.

When booting this are the lines of DMESG:

I then press CTRL+ALT+BCKSPACE (To kill X) and when it loads I can see the Unity Launcher icons and everything works at a lower resolution but I get the following DMESG line:
