Bug Description
Binary package hint: nvidia-settings
The summary says it. nvidia-settings can't load .nvidia-settings-rc at startup if the 'Include X Display Names in the Config File' is checked in the 'nvidia-settings Configuration' submenu.
The output is like this:
ERROR: Cannot open display 'Ubuntu:0.0'.
ERROR: Cannot open display 'Ubuntu:0.1'.
ERROR: Unable to assign attribute CursorShadow specified on line 21 of
connection).
...and so on until the last line.
This results in default display settings at reboot. Unchecking the abovementioned option removes the 'Ubuntu:0.' before the display number, letting the settings file load successfully.
