Error applying Dynamic TwinView in Jaunty

Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

When using nvidia-settings to choose a dynamic twinview between my laptop and an external monitor, I got the following error:

Failed to set MetaMode (1) 'CRT-0: 1280x1024 @1280x1024 +1440+0, DFP-0: nvidia-auto-select @1440x900 +0+0' (Mode 2720x1024, id: 52) on X screen 0.

Running in a terminal:

$xrandr --output --auto

and then running again nvidia-settings and selecting TwinView again, makes it work
