Bug Description

Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

I can't set any other resolution or refresh rate.

I found the Problem!
I attached the original .nvidia-settings-rc (from fresh install, not working)
and the corrected one.

The Problem is the line 36:

0/GPUScaling[DFP-1]=131075 (not working, default setting)
0/GPUScaling[DFP-1]=65537 (working)

(I dont know, how i did get that value, I am just lucky)
(I ve noticed that issue on Alpha 4, - 6, Beta and RC )

Sry, my fault. The Bug is still there.
I tried again to set 50Hz (better PAL performance), but nothing changed.

Update:
This bug is in karmic too ( nvidia 185.18.36-0ubuntu9 )
and i can reproduce this bug with a 9600M GT and the same montior too.

I think this could be a more or less monitor-specific problem.
(Samsung LCD TV)

I'll attach "lspci -vvnn" and the default .nvidia-settings-rc file from the second affected Computer.
(workaround works)

I think this problem has something to do with my external display device. (Samsung LCD TV)
If i connect my TV via HDMI to my Laptop (Nvidia) the same problem appears.
When I change the displaydevice, everything ok.
I will change the affected Package to nvida-glx-185 because I believe that the driver does not detect the TV correctly.
My current Workaround is:
Disable "Force Full GPU Scaling"
Then all settings work as expected.
