Hello Alberto, or anyone else affected,

Accepted nvidia-graphics-drivers-updates into oneiric-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

Have tested here on Dell laptop (8400m), all is fine though obviously just one hardware example
Also does resolve bug 864666 (clementine cpu use on exit)

I'm seeing suspend / resume failures on my MacBook Pro 5,1 with nvidia-current-updates 285.05.09 - nvidia-current 280.13 is fine though - this is also noted in bug #875305

I think that the package in oneric-proposed should be re-built with the latest stable 290.10 version and re-tested since one people is having suspend, resume failures with the current update.

Alternatively, since only one person is having problems on a mac thus far. The update can be pushed to the stable repository and the likely (very small) minority having issues can downgrade to the non-update build since it is unlikely to please everyone and new drivers fix a lot of bugs for other people and are more stable for them, me included.

Would it make sense to mark this bug as duplicate of bug 1037483 ?

@Christina try nvidia-current-updates, which is the binary package name.

Looks like precise ships 295 in -updates. So I think this bug can be closed out as fixed. I agree updating to 304 makes sense now but bug 1037483 tracks that.
